It’s been a while since we’ve updated this blog post, but this will be brief.  Where did April go?!?!?

As of the last update from Dr. Roussin and Lynette Siragusa on May 1, 2020, there have been 280 cases of COVID-19 in Manitoba, with 236 recovered and six deaths.  Currently, there are 38 active cases.

This is considerably lower than the models predicted, suggesting that our collective efforts to limit the spread have been effective.  Way to go everyone!

In a couple of days, the province will begin to re-open, albeit slowly.  Ultimately, we are hopeful that we can move back toward our pre-pandemic lifestyles without resulting in a significant increase in COVID-19 cases.  As such, we need to continue to be vigilant with how we conduct ourselves out in public, such as respecting social distancing whenever possible, wearing a face mask if have to be somewhere where we can’t keep our distance from others, washing our hands thoroughly, and, most importantly, staying home if we aren’t feeling well.

Thank you to everyone who has helped limit the spread of COVID-19!  We are extremely grateful for all of your efforts!!!

Stay safe everyone and enjoy the nicer weather from the end of spring and the upcoming summer!!!
